Venus in Aries ordinarily suggests speed, heat, and directness. The lover who's head-over-heels at a glance. The artist who trusts the impulse. The spender who wants what they want and worries about cost later. Under normal conditions, this transit injects a bracing shot of candour to the bloodstream; people confess sooner, dress bolder, tolerate zero stalling, and discover instantly whether the other person can match their energy or fold under it.
2026 offers no such frivolities. This is a dampening round for this version of the love goddess.
Venus enters Aries on 6 March and moves through in one direct passage, exiting to Taurus on 30 March. Unlike last year, there is no retrograde, no retreat into Pisces to reconsider, no second shot after the first one burns out. What you reach for, you will have to own. Yet the field she enters has already been poisoned by weight. Neptune crossed into Aries on 26 January. Saturn followed on 14 February. Saturn conjunct Neptune at 0° Aries does many things, few of them cheerful. We talked about this ad nauseam. It dissolves illusions while demanding structure, instantly. It exposes the gap between what we dreamed and what we built. It brings vision into collision with limitation, longing into collision with exhaustion. It's actually rather depressing. And when Venus passes through the coagulated residue of that conjunction, she gets dragged into the heavy, carrying it with her. Every aspect she makes during this passage will carry the lugubrious undertow of Saturn-Neptune: inhibited desire, lack of initiative, a faintness in the blood where appetite used to live. Ebertin called it "suffering in love". He was being precise.
We mean desire that's had to push her way through the murky swamp in a fog, in a bitter minefield of hurt, resentment and sorrow. And there is war. The conflict now burning between Israel, the United States, and Iran has altered more than geopolitics. It has changed the texture of daily life for anyone paying attention: the cost of fuel, of extravagant outings, the cost of feeling safe, the nervous hum beneath every transaction. Aries governs war. It governs the will to act before consequences finish arriving. So Venus moving through Aries in 2026 does so against a backdrop where aggression, survival, and the readiness to strike first have become ambient. That energy bleeds into the personal. Romance carries tension that has nothing to do with the two people in the room. Jealousy flares hotter when the world outside already feels threatening. Rejection stings worse when the ground lights up, and it all goes to blazes...
