For some cosmically ordained “reason”, we all felt a manic urge to scoop up and spread every stray shred of information that came our way. Social media went berserk with self-proclaimed “expert” opinions, conspiracies, and up-in-our-face breakneck commentary. Seemed like every two-bit shyster held a venerable position on every headline with their own “podcast”. Reverberating hot new buzzwords and parroting the latest sophistries of the verba times without stopping to think, let alone grasp the finer points, we extolled our version of the holy ‘word’—though, frankly, nobody was truly listening anyway…
