ERIS CONJUNCT THE NORTH NODE AT 24°20′ ARIES [Nov. 27]

Eris, the embodiment of the scorned feminine warrior archetype, is deeply embedded in our collective psyche as a force unafraid to intervene and blow the whistle on hidden truths, especially when marginalised or banished. Her energy is not just about provocation but also about exposing the underlying dynamics of power and exclusion; of dominance and neglect.

In mythology, Eris is notorious for instigating the Trojan War by exposing the vanity and competitiveness of the gods, a narrative that resonates with her current astrological influence. Her conjunction with the Aries North Node, exact on November 27th at 24°20′ Aries, signals a period where her disruptive yet truth-revealing fury aligns with summoning us all on our collective path towards destiny.

Aries, a sign notorious for its storming nature and audacious front, amplifies Eris’s urgent and immediate call for action. This conjunction, in the fiery, headstrong sign of the ram suggests a period of bold, unflinching changes, where individuals and societies are more inclined to confront and address long-standing issues of injustice and inequality. The assertive nature of Aries fuels Eris’s zeal to hurl fireballs at the status quo and shake up any ingrained complacency.

Mars’ opposition to this conjunction on October 6th served as a significant trigger. Mars, ruler of Aries, escalates the level of aggression and conflict potential to Eris’s already potent energy. The opposition set in motion a series of events or conflicts that will reach a climax or point of significant development around the time of the exact conjunction. It’s a dynamic that could manifest in personal experiences as a struggle for autonomy and recognition, and on a global scale as heightened political or social tensions.

Eris’ leverage, especially in conjunction with the North Node in Aries, might be seen in various global phenomena. From rising movements/campaigns for greater independence and unmitigated equity, and from the emboldening of marginalised voices to aggravated political upheavals where suppressed frustrations and rivalries come to the fore, her impact is far-reaching and could catalyse personal journeys where many have the courage to finally come to terms and shamelessly assert their true identity, especially for those who have felt sidelined or unheard.

The strife and discord of a scorned and triggered Eris, combined with the connective, karmic quality of the North Node, is a call for both collective and individual awakenings. This is a time when hidden truths, once revealed to all, lead to catabolic shakedowns in how we view power, demand equality, and assail our own indigenous rights in shaping the future of our landscape. Sure, this period might be marked by wars, difficulties, catastrophic turmoil, and societal upheavals, but it also holds the potential for groundbreaking shifts towards enacting greater authenticity and exacting transgenerational justice.

Of course, it’s most possible that the big catastrophe, or multiple catastrophes, are already unfolding, setting humanity on a trajectory of irreversible change. Part of our immense despair and furious reactivity comes from our unconscious anguish collectively feeding into this.

For instance, there are enough of us invested in the belief that a severe climate crisis looms large and that we have entered an era of unparalleled environmental woes, where extreme weather patterns, rising sea levels, and a string of devastating natural disasters are early signs that we are entering a new epoch of wild ecological instability. Whether this is man-made or helped by epochal cosmological patterns, we’re feeling it.

Alongside this, and following the dimly-handled CV19 (remember?), the threat of another global pandemic(s), one more virulent and deadly, is not out of the question. We know our systems are ill-equipped and our ‘experts’ incompetent to handle a real public health calamity.

And, i’m not forgetting to mention that alongside these perils is the grim possibility that ongoing wars between feuding neighbours could spawn international conflict, which very plausibly could escalate to thermonuclear levels, threatening unimaginable destruction and loss. Meanwhile, the unchecked march of AI and technology, especially the advancement of algorithmic, technologically enhanced AGI-like machine-learning bots, brings not only ethical and privacy concerns but also existential threats to human autonomy and livelihoods.

Also, the rate of biodiversity loss (species extinction) due to deforestation, strip-mining, overfishing, and general ecosystem destruction is alarming, potentially leading us to the point of no return and sabotaging the delicate balance of life on Earth. These ecological collapses to the food chain could result from various factors, including ocean acidification and the demise of crucial ecosystems, like corals. It’s very possible that economic and social collapse also looms, with global economies weakened by overinflation, corporate inequities and unsustainable practices, potentially leading to widespread societal and financial breakdown.

I could go on, and then one might wave their fist at me for being a doomsayer, but hey, like the fabled Cassandra, I’ve been saying all along, this was coming. Individually, you may be blessed with a tremendous sense of well-being, and that’s wonderful. But in context of the larger picture, there is something very unsettling with how the well-being of our world is being handled.

Our world is overrun by gargantuan monsters who threaten great geopolitical instability and hence resource scarcity, especially over freshwater and basic needs. Things could suddenly switch to survival mode, which could escalate into large-scale conflicts, affecting millions. The spectre of large-scale technological disasters, such as internet or global communication network outages, sinister data breaches, or uncontrolled AI developments, add a dimension of disruption not yet seen.

The scale of the current outer planet developments is impossible to fathom unless one takes a look at long-range, often invisible cycles. But something (everything) seems to be coming to a head. Acknowledging the gravity of our situation, we must also remember our resilience as a species, our capacity for innovation, and our innate desire for cooperation and peace will ultimately prevail. The path ahead may be fraught with challenges, but it is also rife with opportunities for adaptation, healing, and new growth.
