on MARS SQUARING SATURN

Nothing sets a harsher, meaner tone upon the earth than the squaring of the two malefics in the skies. Both Mars and Saturn are dignified to the hilt in their respective domiciles. Each is flanked by a bevvy of motley allies who only reinforce their distorted sense of righteous frustration, resentment, anger and disgust with one another. Neither is prepared to budge, both digging in for some classic trench warfare.

Saturn’s supreme governance over the establishment threatens to screw Mars, super-tight, imposing harsher judgement, stricter disciplinary measures and even blame-and-shame tactics, choking the warrior’s fuel to his fire. When blind force gets senselessly out of control, austerity, confinement and exclusion seem the only solution. Saturn becomes the perfect sergeant, riding Mars all through boot-camp.

Under square, Mars struggles and will not succumb to any top-heavy pressure. After his bout with Pluto, his rage is pricked-up hard and he intends to fight a gritty, ruthless and downright relentless resistance. It turns into a war of attrition and personal honour. He’s a born warrior who’s not afraid to go down to the wire, even if the odds appear insurmountable. Typically, disagreeable Mars in Aries lacks the scope of imagination to even fathom the severity of consequences for going against the status quo. With his snubbed sister Eris in his ear, his battle against authority is one where he is fighting against the extinction of his own kind.
