We are at a point of utter dismay, disappointment, and disgust, and it has nothing to do with the current mood and everything to do with the understanding that the structure we stood upon is on its last legs. The old agreements have decomposed so thoroughly that even pretending takes enormous effort. You feel it. I feel it. Something foundational has rotted out, and we are all just standing on the floorboards hoping nobody jumps.
On 17 February, the sky delivers a cosmic event that looks and feels nothing like your regular new moon. An annular solar eclipse at 28°50 Aquarius, right on the anaretic edge, where our highest ideals either become working design or collapse into wishful thinking. This is the Aquarius–Leo axis lighting up for the first time in a new cycle, carrying that brutal late-degree charge: deadline energy, brittle certainties, recruitment into "the future", and the creeping realisation that the old system has been running on borrowed coherence for longer than anyone wants to admit.
Then the curveball out from left field. The eclipse is squared by Uranus in late Taurus, tight and uncompromising. A fixed-sign standoff. Innovation versus continuity. The collective vision versus the material earth struggling to hold steady beneath it. The future tries to muscle in through networks, platforms, movements, and social pressure, while the bull-headed Taurus responds with money, housing, food, energy crises and the inconvenient reality that nothing changes without some cost. Somebody has to pay. The argument is about who.
Hate to say I told you so, but this is how the West was done, and it looks like it descends into an unruly wild west before anyone in charge admits they lost the plot. Your money and possessions will not protect you. The more you have, the more they weigh you down as the world prepares for a universal levelling nobody with a fat retirement portfolio wants to think about.
