Chances are that you haven’t been sleeping well lately. Your body is missing out on much-needed exercise, probably not watching your diet or hydrating. Lay off the hooch – it’s not the way to deal with serious matters.
The situation at the moment is dire and can be acutely stressful. If you are the sensitive kind, the stress can take its toll on your delicate body. If you’re feeling exhausted or burnt out, you’re likely going to feel especially emotional by this time tomorrow.
Understand, that in the weeks ahead, we are all about to experience some monumental life-changes – all of us. No, things will not keep on being this way any longer. If you’re feeling especially nervous about all this then your emotions may be running off the charts. You might find yourself wanting to cry more easily, unsure why you’re even crying in the first place.
Many people may be overcome with an overwhelming sense of grief, their past traumas triggered. Avoid engaging with those who are likely to upset you, who feed into negative emotions like fear, shame, guilt, anger, and sadness. It’s wise not to get into arguments with anyone during this period. Respect one another’s common humanity. Remember, we all go through low moments where we need to be held with respect, even if we do not agree. Friend or foe, treat them with kindness. Avoid the temptation to be mean, even if “they had it coming”. You are much bigger than that.
If you cannot reconcile with your feelings, if you are feeling seriously anxious or depressed or you suffer from a known emotional disorder, do not hesitate to reach out to loved ones or seek appropriate treatment.
Moods will shift again into the weekend, you will see. Of course, you are ok. It’s only feelings and we must sit with these, let them wash over our bodies. These too will pass.
