After 57 days in lockdown, 43 of which I am forbidden to exit my front door between 8pm and 5am, and then allowed only to circulate for ONE hour a day and only within a 5km radius from home, and then only to replenish food supplies and ‘exercise’, only with face-covering AT ALL TIMES (regardless whether I am in a store or at the park or walking by the river), the number of CV19 cases per day in this state (~ 100) has hardly varied and our premier/governor seems to be showing no indication that he is going to ease restrictions for perfectly healthy citizens. Meanwhile, small businesses have suffered and many Victorians are facing unemployability in what has become all but a cashless economy (due to fear of infection from exchanging coins and notes).
Although CV19 deaths in this country (Tot = 611) seem only to be affecting those otherwise immortals at the older end of the scale (see graph in comments), the continued manner of compliance in this city – famous for its supposedly “progressive” attitudes – seems bizarrely rather akin to what can only be described as Stockholm Syndrome. There is nearly a 90% approval of our state premier’s draconian efforts to hold everyone indoors, without any plan to release them any time soon. In fact, the hon. Dan Andrews recently applied in parliament to extend powers to lockdown for an extra 12 months, passing only for another 6 months after senate vote. This seems to be the only decision involving the senate he’s made over the last 2 months.
Interestingly, over in Sweden, where the adult citizens opted to impose NO restrictions at all since the outbreak in Feb, daily CV19 deaths are down to ~1 per day, while daily case numbers have plateaued (~ 200) since July. Did they try to eliminate the virus? No, it just passed through, did its bit and is now about to leave the Swedish citizens immune to the virus, stronger – healthier and wealthier and wiser. Meanwhile, as the weather starts to get warmer in Australia due to the coming of summer, we are warned that this year’s bushfire season will be potentially as devastating as the last, despite no real changes to big industry and mining practices since last year’s holocaust and a major health pandemic.
This is the state of cognitive disconnect going on globally between the apathetic citizens of the world and their “democratically” sponsored masters. Does one really need to be an astrologer to “predict” what may be in store for the human race into December and beyond?
