What is real and what is of absolutely no consequence? What is of real use to you and do you seriously need so many things to fuss over? Are you even fussing over the right things or are you just wasting your energy…
Although this Libra New Moon may pose an intellectually stimulating array of questions, what it all comes down to is the making and managing of money and resources, and the various challenges in the way in which you choose to look at material reality. In the most existential sense, you may even ask whether anything you have is of any value at all when held up to scrutiny.
Since much of your basic worth and many of your basic survival needs are generally geared to how well you can provide for others, especially partnerships, then this moon brings you an opportunity to appraise and recalibrate your relationships, making a wholehearted effort to choose exactly where and with whom you will invest more of yourself.
Whilst your natural tendency will always be to have someone to take care of and to serve, you may also tend to neglect or avoid taking the best care of yourself alone. This could pose problems, particularly if there are any difficulties in your intimate relationships. You can often worry yourself sick about other people. Strangely, the more you worry, the more non-responsive, and distant they seem to become. On the extreme, you may have just chosen to be alone, although it isn’t likely that you could ever exist without being able to serve someone. In this case, it may be your work which fills this void.
This Chiron opposition to this lunation makes you excessively sensitive about your sexuality, sex appeal or sexual potency. You may feel so inadequate to assert yourself in this area currently that a frigidity, or lack of willingness to confidently engage in your intimate encounters may gradually deflate your ability to feel empowered or sexually satisfied. This may ultimately affect your sense of self-worth. Perhaps some physical impediment or discomfort is frustrating things; or a lack of timing. Failure to put yourself out there enough; initiate contact, and little rejections have the effect of trampling all over your insecurities.
This sees you withdrawing into silent shut-downs, writhing in secret anger and resentment about being ignobly mistreated, or abused. This could be a time when you may feel that need to destroy others through ‘silent-treatments’, controlled separations or divorce (or any other means of passive vengeance) may be justifiable defense. You may find that you have tried to help them in ways that didn’t help. You may have tried your best to see things their way, bent over backwards, tried to avoid letting them down or hurting their feelings and, in so doing, have only hurt yourself. You may have been afraid to trust your feelings, believed their lies and then felt wounded or betrayed. At times, you may have wanted to get even and punish them. God knows, you may have even felt so angry that you wanted to kill.
Look at yourself. Look at your sense of worth. What are you prepared to do for others? Are you liable to do whatever it takes to get whatever you need to provide for them? Or are you more prone to cut yourself off from others, resist entering a partnership until you are certain that you can find a financially/materially equal mate.
Your own healing comes only by being able to learn how to patiently work through your interpersonal issues and develop complex emotional relationships with others. In order to release yourself from the wounds of sexual frustration, impotence, physical or financial inadequacy you must first accept that somehow you feel that you are karmically indebted to others. You have let another person’s sense of approval affect you, and you are obsessed with controlling that person’s appraisal of you to the point where it has complete power over your self-worth.
In this sense, choose carefully who you will invest in.
New Moon Intention
I must not allow the desire to attain a sense of security and stability in my life to be carried to the point of causing anxiety and paranoia.
I will tether any obsession I may have about obtaining money or material possessions, acknowledging that these may simply come from a temporary insecurity that I may have about my own self-worth. I understand that any insecurity i may have about my self-worth may be overcome by accepting responsibility to develop my full creative potential, and pledge to learn how to apply this gainfully.
I learn to value and respect matters which are visible and tangible, and I depend upon the physical medium to define the measure of my success.
I will avoid making any non-productive comparisons between what I have versus what others have. This is not a constructive measure of my worthiness nor necessarily a fair appraisal of my resources.
I begin to focus my personal vision for the future by managing my finances, property, land development and any other investments involving natural resources with more care. I ask my intuition to guide me on what needs cultivating most in my world in order to reap the highest benefits.
I ask my spirit to guide me on how to examine things more carefully before I make any commitment.
I explore a higher development of my libido through a partner who is equally as capable of keeping me satisfied. I explore all hope in both myself and my entire society when I choose the most suitable investment in any long-term contractual relationships.
I’m careful not to overindulge in my dealings with my loved ones if I am to earn their trust and on-going respect.
