THE WEEK AHEAD: Oct 07-13

[pic: marta bevacqua]

In the weeks ahead, you may all become a little weary of my astro-logical preempting of the baleful effects of the South-Noded Saturn/Pluto conjunction. This is because nothing feels nearly so pressing and uncomfortable as an individual awareness that we are all under the same, collective, alchemical fate.

How is it that we’re all involuntarily tied together in ‘this‘? What is ‘this‘?

Whether we are conscious of this or not, it remains largely unclear to us as individuals whether we possess the personal power to stop ourselves from getting sucked into Pluto’s extremely implacable vortex of this transformative dynamic. Its reconstructive auspices upon our whole entire social order are largely invisible, and its final outcome is beyond our solitary control.

For those who are not even remotely aware, our planet is undergoing a mass transmutation which involves a complex deconstruction of 19th century of industrialisation, centuries of rational state-building, and ideologies of progress.

By ‘industrialisation’ we’re talking about both the commercialisation of agriculture and the multifaceted phases of the industrial revolution, which together both shrank the planet and generated an intensely connected system of global capitalism.

By ‘rational state-building’, we mean the process by which administrative and bureaucratic proficiencies were accumulated and ‘confined’ within national territories. And by ‘ideologies of progress’, we’re implying those assemblages of beliefs, concepts and values which address how governance, economies and cultural frameworks relate to one other, how individuals and groups fit into these networks, and how human collectivities should be governed.

The Libra Sun continues to try and hold it together and find some healthy balance in a world becoming ever more torn toward extremes.

By the end of this year, when the Sun eventually reaches the near-conjunct Saturn/Pluto in Capricorn, the degree of frustration met in trying to achieve individual objectives under the irrevocably-changing collective framework will reach a point where it succumbs to ultimate, transformational pressure upon our global society. Those seemingly invisible forces of blockage and oppression will find ways to break down and reconstruct our personal and collective struggle towards freedom of spirit and enterprise.

Although oscillations of power are nothing new in human history, current trends in power suggest a gradual shift towards those who control extraordinary levels of information, and this asset alone makes the power gap both much bigger and much more challenging to close.

As well as marking a shift in the distribution of power and culture from the old-age industrialists to neo-tech-bros, the global transformation also heralds the imminent relinquishing patriarchal modes of power. Hence, the new challenge will be how power is actually constituted, organised and dispatched among us. A global reset is imminent.

This week hence prepares us to meet these ominous pressures. As the Libra Sun squares this tightening Saturn/SouthNode/Pluto dynamic, it conceivably sparks all kinds of personal and sociopolitical incidents.

How?

As our own views subconsciously become more and more extreme about how we are being governed, the likelihood that we would try to resist, or at least try challenge opposing socio-political views, creates a tensely unsettling effect between us. This is seen most evidently in our interpersonal relationships, where many divisions bring us to the brink of break-up, and in some extremes to the point of vitriolic contempt.

Of course, the Libran Sun (conscious self) will always try to be diplomatic and PC in how it handles the disturbing complexity of imbalances in the distribution of power and fixated political agenda of others. However, in the conflict of struggling to balance extreme ends, we may find that it’s becoming harder to find peaceable solutions with those around us who still hold deeply conservative opinions and closed-minded perceptions of life.

As the old-style of managing things becomes simply incapable of offering answers to complex, new human problems, we observe too that it’s a hopeless situation to try to enforce old policies to deal with extraordinary new levels of endemic corruption. The Saturn/Pluto slowly acts to eliminate any still-prevailing attitudes to many of yesteryear’s socio-economic values using the constitutional mumbo-jumbo that once held it all into place. Things have shifted and we cannot stand and watch, or turn our backs in ignorance as the world becomes taken over by the deregulated march of technocrats and plutocrats.

Working to find amicable, legally-binding outcomes within outdated traditions and regressive social attitudes will be tricky. Essentially the schism between us starts to show through and through. We will inevitably feel more and more suspicious of those who try to challenge traditionally accepted attitudes with their own progressive views. As great turmoil erupts, both in our inner and personal life and in our Reality TV exterior world, we sense the potential harkening of an imminent collapse of ‘secure foundations’. Here, we are forced to re-evaluate both our position in the world and how we manage our peace and well-being in our personal lives.

As we see this week, any radical shift is unlikely unless we first demonstrate that we are capable of undergoing the most thorough, cathartic transformation possible.

The Sun’s struggle, with both Saturn, then Pluto, will only demonstrate how much we are conditioned by our deepest, preconditioned ideas about society. It is our gravest fear of change, abandonment and death which threatens to prevent such a transformation from actually happening. Our courage to persevere goes beyond an awareness that anything we do is merely personal and egotistical. We must realise that we are all engulfed in a collective, international system in which all parts of this planet are indeed closely and intensely connected – economically, culturally, politically, and militarily. This cannot be denied if we are to survive as a planet.

We are met with the emergence of a global system generated by a host of new actors, whose power and wealth transcends that of nation-states, transnational affairs, and standing intergovernmental and nongovernmental organisations became leading participants in international relations.

These are the supremely powerful hidden oligarchs of the information technology age, becoming leading players in global affairs. Their subtle, currently unchecked influence is set to determine the wholesale fate of this entire planet’s collective future. Unless we find some way to measure, moderate, and regulate their balance of power, these guys will very soon monopolise the whole world.

More visibly, we see the so-called “puppet world leaders” and their notorious antagonists performatively pose on our ‘reality TV’ media outlets as ‘newsmakers,’ but they are, in effect, nothing more than mere distractors from the real changemakers and puppet masters.

There are those of us who are aware enough to try to avoid the main distraction – who will attempt to piece together the grand conspiracy to dominate the world through high-tech networks. We must stay mindful to cleverly avoid becoming manipulatively drawn back into mainstream narratives. Those who assume we are stupid are constantly employing a myriad of contrived ways to influence our thinking and feeling. They throw out false flags and red herrings or otherwise summarily shut us out of circulation entirely by their equally as clever censoring algorithms.

Before Sunday’s intensely potent Aries Full Moon, whose near-exact T-square to Pluto uncomfortably highlights all of the above, we sense a tremendous shift in relations as Venus leaves her domicile Libra to join Mercury in early Scorpio.

Needless to say, the Mercury/Venus oppositions to Uranus don’t bode well towards us forming any peaceable, or productive channels in our social relationships. In fact, there is nothing ‘good’ about the mutually receptive relationship that a debilitated Venus in Scorpio holds to Mars in Libra. Mars’ opposition to Chiron only aggravates wounds broached by last week’s Libra New Moon, and again stirs contempt between the genders, particularly towards the now infamously-termed “toxic masculine”.

A special reminder to remain above the fray, act with kindness, tolerance and love, but to act none-the-less. Make an effort to confront unkindness, ignorance and misguidedness around you with a soothing, insightful gesture that reminds others that we are all in this struggle together. Do NOT allow it just to fly.

Better to work together than try to tear ourselves apart, even if sometimes we do struggle to agree. There is always an answer – the answer is love and acceptance of others, as we would wish them to accept and love us.

My big task will be to provide you with a comprehensive account of this lunation (see Cosmic Bus) and a full set of individual horoscope messages that attempts to delineate this most intense Full Moon for each of your signs. I look forward to your joining me.

Blessings, and may you have an amazing week xx
