Of course, the whole “disruption to the establishment” deal is currently being sponsored and promoted by Jupiter, who is Scorpio is insistent that there be no limitations on how much dirt we can conjure. Here, we all feel encouraged to dig deep within our own experiences to see how best we can assist Jupiter with what is already shaping up to be quite a comprehensive investigation into the underlying mechanics of sexuality, power, emotional destructiveness, inheritance, taxes, espionage, loss and abandonment, death, and other juicy, taboo-ish subjects pertinent to the realms of Scorpio.
This week, a conjunction to Jupiter from Venus♏ (in detriment) only insatiates our appetite for intense inter-personal truths and laws. Meanwhile the intrigue deepens as we head into a Scorpio New Moon, replete with its two joint rulers (♂ and ♇) engaging in a fierce Last Quarter Square.…

Perhaps one of the most intensely pivotal weeks in transit activity this year, since we are still effectively in the fallout period of the Saturn/Chiron square, and its bedraggling patriarchal wound-issues. Also still in lagging are the soul-fragmenting effects of the Uranus/Neptune semi-square, both being activated by Mercury and Venus this week – two planets who, in their detriment are not going to function with any true authority since neither is allowed to function in ways that are true to their intent, or nature.
Therefore, expect a scorned, embittered Venus to not be much in helping heal the frustrations of the patriarchy’s woes, nor to lovingly embrace the establishment to help it overcome its inherent limitations.
Instead, Venus will exact a mean, tough-love approach, and encouraged by her conjunction to Jupiter may go all out to “bury the old man” who dared mess with her. This, coupled with a grandiose-minded Mercury in Sadge, who without all (or any) of the facts chooses to postulate ‘cosmic truths’ that are more fraught with strange confusions and speculative tarradiddle, old bilgewater and conspiratorial tommyrot. It’s easy to fudge over details, even brag or mumble through the fiddly bits we can’t account.
However, this is a time when a well-grounded, socially-responsible attitude must be adopted here, especially when we might have to seriously account upon what basis important decisions are based now – especially ones that are going to affect our overall credibility in society.
Privately, we can believe whatever we want to believe in order to justify our (sometimes extremely radical) choices. However, we must remember that Saturn is nearly in Capricorn (Dec 21), and it will soon be time to get our story straight. And…. as far as ‘society’ is concerned, we are going to be asked to stand by whatever we come to believe. In the most grounded sense, if our overall philosophy is based on weird concepts and unverifiable data, then the first few months of next year (2018) are going to be extremely uncomfortable, if not excruciatingly ‘earth-thumping’ (♃ ∠ ♄).
Noting of course that nearly everything we do these days is being tracked by the super-intelligence running in the algorithms of technology.
Another planet in detriment at this point is our little fighter Mars – the lower ruler of Scorpio. Whilst in Libra, Mars is currently too worried about what might be the negative effect of its actions to actually take any. He is afraid that any direction he takes will unsettle his political position. So he sits on the fence as he slowly coasts into a full-blown closing square with Pluto, the higher ruler of Scorpio.
Here, against the lord of the underworld, a weakened Mars has little chance of staying in the game. Since all his masculine defences are immobilised due to his indecisiveness and what is becoming an obsession about preserving his public image. Any forced reactions come too little, too late and usually driven by a potentially vindictive temper and/or a sexual aggressiveness. All this immediately destroys precisely what Mars in Libra was trying to avoid all along – upsets and disharmony in his reputation and business interests.
Both Venus and Mars are in mutual reception here, or, as they are both in detriment, better termed as being in ‘mutual deception’ since neither is acting out of true dignity, so neither helping to do each other any good in the long run. Damned shame… but cannot be helped.
It’s been a tough slog for both sexes lately (see “Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus and they’re pissed”).
The knives truly come out by the weekend. At the Scorpio New Moon we are interested in only one intention: Executing drastic, single-purposed, thorough, unmitigated, relentless-effort-till-it-happens CHANGE. For this to occur, we roll out whatever cuts, stings, stabs, bruises, bites feel necessary to do the job. This may not sound like a terribly pleasant business, but remembering that the Scorpio death & rebirth phase is a crucial and often serious part of our evolutionary journey.
Thus, let’s be familiar with our early instinctual self, with its extreme displays of rage, greed, destructive envy, lust and shameful depressions, as well as its tenacious capacity to survive, to thrive and in the most positive sense to truly emotionally connect with others.
Given all this: and that with Uranus prevalent in many of our key exchanges throughout all this year, we are by now used to all kinds of shocks and jolts to our system. However, these now frequent disruptions to our world – whether they be through the technology, innovations or the introduction of some sudden new method or idea, are not the change per se. Uranus has only served to accelerate our minds to the point where be are capable of accepting that some things are shifting, and the regularity of jarring events that support this has only primed us for what is about to unfold.
Real change feel like a death. When we discover that things have changed; something has gone from us forever, we sense a deep loss in our heart. Grief soon sets in, and we go through the stages of denial, anger, etc. until we can finally accept that we/things are never going to be the same again. That’s change.

In this, we must be mindful not to fight the very things that would soon prove helpful. Acting in contrary ways without knowing why, we ruin our best chances to get across the bridge to a much higher, easier ‘tomorrow’. Simply because we reject the mere thought of the awkward, uncomfortable or bewildering, even painful period of transition that awaits us, we make things even more difficult.
We best accept the change and innovation is here, in many disruptive forms. No, we did not expect it, nor did it come at a convenient time for us. Change doesn’t work that way. Its effects are going to revolutionise our world in ways that we can scarcely imagine. To what degree this will disturb us, for how long and what will the end result be like… this may be impossible to tell at this point. It all depends on how quickly we can come to accept that what is happening is a blessing and start to work with it in ways that show our ability to adjust to the new way.
