My own memories of this time was that I was working as a financial astrologer and teaching astrology in the centre of town, as well as running a niche club in central Melbourne on the weekends, enjoying relative business success and social recognition. I felt so connected to my tribe, and certainly felt like my unique sense of individuality was not only being accepted into a particular group of like-minded people, but it generated much excitement and promise about a utopian society where everyone helped each other with creative ideas, inspiring a community or co-creative people – I remember feeling like we were really starting a movement, a collective mindset that was going to revolutionise Melbourne (in those days the internet and reaching globally was still only in its infancy).
Of course, i developed a distaste for groups and their flighty, ungrounded utopian visions and left the city, and my business by the end of the year to go in search of my own sense of sovereignty. Those 2-3 years would deeply transform my whole view of society and my apparent sense of importance in it. By the time the Cancer/Capricorn eclipses came I just wanted to live an ordinary life, start a family and show the bank that i could hold down a ‘respectable’ line of work so I could buy a home…. lol ? (i did it, but look where I am now).
Naturally, the context is much different now, and i have to say we are much more evolved (wiser), but expect your life-path to follow similar patterns unless you have the power to resist powerful karmic forces.
Nineteen year nodal cycles complete one spiritual life-cycle. It’s like we have performed a full, underwater somersault – returning to the point we were 19 years before. At any point after your first summersault, it somehow feels like the sunlight’s angle and intensity is familiar, each time you come around you get closer and closer to becoming totally reorienting your position underwater, and at any point can eventually swim directly up to the surface (light) any time you’re ready. Usually though, the first couple of spins are a bit wobbly, disorienting, and you may take in some water, even drown…… (hope this analogy makes sense).
The Sun rules Leo.
Leos and Leo Risings are prone to feel the punch of this eclipse period more intensely than anyone. Just as nothing stands to outshine the Sun, it is only on the very rare occasion that the Moon comes to eclipse the Sun’s effect here upon this earth.
Just like the Sun, Leos do not like being outshined, outclassed, out-trumped, interrupted, or have their efforts intervened or interfered with. They regard anything that threatens to eclipse their autocratic rule as a severe insult to their supreme magnificence. [nothing more ferocious than a lion roaring at the moon]
But then, sometimes…. things can get terribly out of balance. In this Lunar Eclipse (Aug 7), the Aquarius Moon hopes to somehow offset any imbalances to the Leo Sun, and with Jupiter, perhaps help to reflect the inequities and injustices caused by the Leo Sun’s proud, bombastic glare.
Will he listen? Failing this, the Moon will come to totally eclipse him on Aug 21.
It’s eclipse season again!
Eclipses are significant events. Where they make significant contacts in our charts, their effects are such that they leave permanent markers in our personal development. Over the coming weeks, we will look deeper into these effects, piecing together in our analysis why this is such a critical time, not only for you personally but also in your connections to others.
Eclipses are not mere minor events. Even if they do occur every six months, their impact upon our lives is applied weeks, even months in advance – particularly if they happen to activate personal points in our charts.
The manner in which they can affect our lives can be quite personal, leaving behind a monumental legacy in our life story. This means that significant life events are almost always punctuated by these very potent lunations, either in internal/emotional (lunar) or external/expressive (solar) affairs. This is particularly the case when personal points in our chart (☉,☽,☿,♀,♂,Asc, MC) are sensitive to hard aspects.
Such a powerful effect for a celestial event whose real-time duration usually lasts only minutes. However, it seems like a necessary alarm-bell to shift us out of any blissful slumber. Unlike NEW/FULL Moons, the Nodes are involved, which means the beginnings and ending involve very significant connection to others, both in our personal contacts and our ties to the greater collective. Seems somehow that during eclipses our own fate is inextricable tied to that of others
This third eclipse of the year (Aug 7) is the lunar at 15°25′. It is only a penumbral (Moon moves through the faint, outer part of Earth’s shadow) and will appear to the naked eye much like any ordinary Full Moon. Yet, its effects are much more intense and its influence extends well beyond the usual 2-4 week influence of a standard Full Moon.
Remember, eclipses are significant events. Where they make significant contacts in our charts, their effects are such that they leave permanent markers in our personal development. Over the coming weeks, we will look deeper into these effects, piecing together in our analysis why this is such a critical time, not only for you personally but also in your connections to others…..
